Mains water leaves the tap at 32 degrees in Pontianak and 17 in Berastagi. That single number sets the chiller size, the first pull-down time and the electricity bill, which is why we publish figures per city instead of one national brochure.
Below are the twelve places we are asked about most often in English. The electricity column is for a 400-litre tub held at 5 degrees with the insulated lid on outside bathing hours, used an hour a day, on the domestic R-1 tariff. At roughly Rp 16,300 to the US dollar, the whole column sits between 11 and 14 dollars a month — a fact worth knowing before you read anybody's warning about running costs.
| Place | Mains water | Chiller, 400 L | First pull-down | Electricity / month | Handover |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Canggu | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.4 h | Rp 214,000 | 12 days |
| Seminyak | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.4 h | Rp 214,000 | 12 days |
| Sanur | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.4 h | Rp 214,000 | 12 days |
| Denpasar | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.6 h | Rp 214,000 | 12 days |
| Ubud | 25-27 °C | 1.5 PK | 6.1 h | Rp 195,000 | 14 days |
| Uluwatu | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.4 h | Rp 214,000 | 14 days |
| Jakarta | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.8 h | Rp 214,000 | 18 days |
| Bandung | 22-24 °C | 1.5 PK | 4.9 h | Rp 177,000 | 18 days |
| Surabaya | 29-31 °C | 2 PK | 5.8 h | Rp 220,000 | 20 days |
| Mataram, Lombok | 28-30 °C | 1.5 PK | 7.6 h | Rp 214,000 | 20 days |
| Labuan Bajo | 29-31 °C | 2 PK | 5.6 h | Rp 220,000 | 28 days |
| Bali, all ten towns | 25-31 °C | 1.5-2 PK | 6.1-7.6 h | Rp 195-220,000 | 10-16 days |
Take the lid off and every figure in that last column climbs by about a third — Rp 214,000 becomes Rp 283,000, Rp 195,000 becomes Rp 259,000. In a country where the dew point rarely drops below 24 degrees, condensation on a 5-degree water surface is the largest single load on the chiller, and a lid removes most of it. That is why the lid is inside the price of every tub we build rather than sold as an accessory.
Those day counts run from the deposit to the finished cold test, not from the moment a lorry leaves. Outside Java the shell travels in a crate we build ourselves and a technician flies to meet the ship, because one visit has to finish the job — sending someone back to Flores or Papua a second time costs more than the tub did.
Yes, and roughly one order in five is exactly that. The rule is simple: anything cast in place is permanent, anything on a frame is not. A terrazzo shell bedded on a concrete pad should be treated as part of the building, and our three-year shell warranty does not cover cracks caused by someone lifting it later. An insulated portable tub, an acrylic shell on a frame or a 316 stainless body can be unbolted, drained and moved in an afternoon.
Two practical points for a lease. First, the chiller needs a fixed outdoor position with 60 centimetres of clear air on the condenser side and a drilled route for two insulated hoses — get that in writing from the owner before we drill anything. Second, a 400-litre tub full of water weighs about 780 kilograms across less than 1.5 square metres, so on tiles or a timber deck we will ask for a pad, and pouring concrete in someone else's garden is a conversation, not a detail. Read how the crew handles both under installation.
If your address is not among the twelve above — Amed, Nusa Penida, Bingin, Gili Air, Batam, Makassar — we still build for it. The figures we start from are those of the nearest city in the table, and the incoming water is measured again during the survey before anything is fixed. Component prices are all on the pricing page, and you can size the unit yourself on the chiller calculator before speaking to anybody.
Of the twelve here, Bandung at Rp 177,000 a month, because its mains water is 22-24 degrees all year. Ubud is next at Rp 195,000. The most expensive are Surabaya and Labuan Bajo at Rp 220,000, where the water arrives at 29-31 degrees. The whole spread is about three US dollars a month, which surprises most people who expected the tropics to be punitive.
No. Bali shells are cast in our own Tabanan workshop and travel on our own truck, so island delivery is already inside the tub price. What raises Bali invoices is what clients choose here — dark terrazzo, bengkirai decking, 316 stainless steps — not the freight.
Add ten days to the handover figure in the table. That covers the survey, three to five days of drawings and your own approval of a physical material sample. For Bali that means roughly four weeks before the arrival date; for Labuan Bajo, closer to seven.
Nine faults in ten are a relay, a capacitor, a flow switch or a blocked cartridge, and a local electrician can clear them on a video call with our workshop. For islands without a supplier we pack a year of those consumables in the same crate. The first year includes two service visits from us; after that it is a contract described under maintenance.
Yes — 3 degrees is 3 degrees in Bandung and in Pontianak. The city only changes how much machine it takes to hold it and what that costs per month. How we arrive at the size is set out in the chiller sizing guide.

A pin on a map, one photograph of the spot and your PLN meter rating are enough. You get a heat load in watts, a chiller size and a delivery window, usually within two hours.
We reply with sizing, the right chiller and a full price.
